drives to long on and the Heat win!
Heat vs Renegades, 1st semi-final at Melbourne, Jan 15 2013 - Ball by Ball Commentary
What an upset we've seen tonight! The Renegades dominated the league to be 7-1 during the season while the Heat stumbled in thanks to other results going their way, but tonight it was all about the Heat.
More specifically, it was all about Luke Pomersbach tonight, his dashing 112 not out of just 70 balls setting the Heat up for a very healthy score of 183 on a difficult slow and low pitch at Etihad.
Pomersbach made it look easy, though, smashing 15 boundaries and two sixes to all parts of the ground to help his team into the final when noone gave them a chance.
The Renegades started brightly, but they needed everything to go their way and it was Ben Cutting who changed the momentum of the game, his 3 for 24 ensuring the Heat go through to the final and qualify for the Champions League.
It's been a thrilling first semi-final and the great thing is we get to do it all over again tomorrow night in Perth as the Scorchers host the Stars for the right to host the final.
Join me, Andrew Fuss, tomorrow night, but for now, good night.
