Excellent bowling! Teases him with another slowish shortish ball floating outside off and he goes hard at it, unable to time his shot as Saint Lucia Kings defend a lowish total rather comfortably in the end
Kings vs Falcons, 17th Match at Gros Islet, CPL, Sep 15 2024 - Ball by Ball Commentary
It was a sensational bowling performance led by Pierre, who gave nothing away early on in the powerplay and took three key wickets in a spin bowling masterclass. David Wiese was devastating with the bat, playing a crucial knock before returning to bowl some vital overs. Noor Ahmed has certainly grown voluminously over the years and was superb with all his tricks, creating massive problems for the batters. Spin dominated the proceedings as Falcons lacked the depth and combined skill to handle the potent bowling attack.
Falcons performed admirably with the ball, thanks to their captain Chris Green, who was outstanding both with the ball and in the fight with the bat but he received little support in the batting department from his teammates and the task became onerous towards the end
Swing and a miss, good comeback from Wiese, keeping it tight around the line off
Hangs back and clubs it over long-off for a gigantic six, in the arc and goes out of the park, he was waiting for that ball and this time it was right in the slot, sits up nicely for him at middle and off
Length and fired straight at stumps, tapped to long-on
Another play and a miss! Shortens his length and keeps it away from his reach as the ball nibbles away outside off
Over the wicket, short of a length and attacks the stumps, just goes over middle as he looks to swing him out of the park but can't connect
Wide yorker scythed to deep backward point, excellent delivery to finish the over
Bit short and plugging away in the channel, unable to smash it across the line
Belabours a forceful pull over deep midwicket for a six, that was flat and disappeared in a few seconds! Back of a length outside off, plants his front leg, swivels a touch and slog-swept the ball delightfully for six
Fortuitous but they all count, too full and outside off, gets some bat on it and that's enough to send it soaring away behind square on off, adds four
Shimmies down leg and pushes it into the covers for a run
Over the wicket, length on off, attacks it and finds the fielder at sweeper cover; Chase tracked the ball from the bat, into the air and then pouched it in his big bucket hands with a well-timed forward lunge
Tries to seize on the full-length ball and was in the arc but he doesn't get the requisite distance, Noor ekes out another wicket. It's his 10th wicket this season. Just keeps suffocating the batters with his clever spin methods. Seifert with a cool catch running at deep midwicket
Cries of catch it but it fell short of du Plessis at point and flutters away
Quality stuff from Noor! Rip-roaring googly wide of off, too good for him, tries to reach and gets beaten on the outside edge
Fraction shorter and swerves back from outside off, uppishly driven to extra cover for a run
Two dot in a row, smart operator. Shortish and spinning it away from off, unable to cut this one
Steps way outside leg-stump and Noor intentionally keeps it away from his range, managed to play a cross-bat shot to cover
Finishes the over on a high with a streaky boundary off the inside edge and it skittles away to the rope, very fine and no chance for any fielder to mop that up, vital four
Carved out to deep extra cover and still no boundary
