Welcome to the Walter Milton Oval for this CSA 3 Day match between Gauteng and their nearby neighbours North West.

At the moment the teams sit 9th and 2nd on the log respectfully.

Gauteng will be unfazed of facing such stiff opposition in the form of North West owing to the fact that in the last round of matches they defied the odds to successfully chase down 331 in the second innings.

North West will be licking their wounds as the mighty Free State flexed their muscles and in the process registering a 10 wicket win at home to North West.

Although the season has not quite gone to plan for Gauteng the coaching staff and players will be brimming with confidence as they have emphatically regained that winning feeling and look hungry for more wins.

The Gauteng side has many big name players but undoubtedly the man of the moment is run scoring machine Devon Conway.

Conway has scored a superb 601 runs thus far and in the process scoring 1 century and 5 fifties.

His stellar performances with the bat have rightfully earned him higher honours in the form of several call ups to the Lions first team set up.

Other players to have their performances rewarded include Junior Dala and Eddie Leie. Leie was particularly impressive in the previous match with a match haul of 9 wickets as well as his 2 wickets against the Dolphins whilst playing for the Lions.

On the bowling side of things, the likes of Jamison and Dala upfront will surely force the North West to be on top of their game or end up back in the hut.

Jamison and Dala combined to take 9 wickets in the previous match.

North West has a few superstars of their own with the bat in the form of: BJ Pelser, Van den Bergh, Bredenkamp, Rapulana and Deeb all of whom have scored more than 400 runs thus far.

On the bowling front the likes of Kruger, Klein and Deeb will surely test the resolve of the Gauteng batsmen.

A major concern for the Gauteng team is the fact that no other batsmen have scored 400 runs this season (Pillay being the closest with 380 runs).

Conditions are overcast with warm temperatures expected as the day goes on.

The pitch looks decent for batting but should offer assistance for the seam bowlers.

This match is set up to be enthralling to the end between these two sides, stay tuned for all the action live.
