and he does just that, short and pulled over midwicket and the batsmen hug even before the ball has reached the boundary
West Indies vs England, Only T20I at Port of Spain, Mar 15 2009 - Ball by Ball Commentary
And that was a thoroughly deserved win for West Indies, they outplayed England in every department and while the scorecard shows they only won with 12 balls to spare, that doesn't reflect the manner of their victory.
England started well but fell apart, Benn and Sammy strangling the life out of the innings as the last nine wickets fell for 66 runs. West Indies also got off to a flier but kept going, and England gifted too many runs through extras and bad balls to give them any hope of pulling something out from the fire.
Check out Andrew Miller's bulletin and we're back on Friday for the first ODI from Georgetown, so join us then. For now, from Martin Williamson it's good evening.
Kieron Pollard strides out to try to win it ...
short, pulled square and Pietersen holds a low catch to his left
One big hit from victory and Bravo would love to be the man to do that.
chipped a foot over midwicket
smacked on the pads as he looks to flick the ball into the on side ... another loud appeal from Khan but the umpire having none of it and the crowd boo his affront for appealing
neat clip past midwicket, Pietersen again helps earn his fee with a long chase round from deep square leg
heaved square on the leg side
banged in short outside off stump ... that was also about three feet above the batsman's head height and why Khan looks aggrieved only he knows
keeps low, Bravo kills the ball
sweetly clipped through midwicket, Bopara fires in a wild throw which deters the second run but causes Anderson to scurry to cut it off
back and swatted to Pietersen at mid-off, he half stops but that's enough to prevent the single
starts forward, then moves back and steers the ball to backward point
back and off his pads a few yards into the on side ... another relatively comfortable run
turned off his pads behind square for an easy run
Anderson back for a final burst ... much too late to make a difference though.
neatly flicked off his pads behind square for four ... and the crowd erupt in acclamation
across his stumps and worked to mid-on, the throw from Mascarenhas hits the stumps and the batsmen momentarily thought of an overthrow
down the leg side, a sure-fire wide had it not clipped his pad, Davies takes it well diving to his left but the appeal for the catch was not seriously considered ... Khan looked bemused but he hadn't seen that Davies had dropped it anyhow!
beaten outside off stump, the ball passes the inside edge as he plays back
That's England's eighth wide ...
a fiery bouncer at 85mph, that caused Bravo to flinch and it's called a wide as it was heading down the leg side
and the rarest of Twenty20 beasts, a leave outside off stump
They're on their feet in the stands as Sarwan heads off, and they on them stay to cheer Bravo to the rafters on his international return on his home turf.
a heave too far, Sarwan plays all round it and the ball clatters into middle and leg stumps
