What an effort by the Redbacks. It looked as if they'd left themselves with too much work to do when they were 2/144 off 32, but some brutal hitting from centurion Klinger and Christian got them home with a bonus point, smashing 85 off the last 8 overs.
The Powerplay ended up being taken at the perfect time, the Redbacks smashing 57 between overs 34 and 38 to get home on the last ball of the 40th over.
Some brilliant individual performances with North's 85 giving the Warriors a chance, O'Brien taking 4 and Klinger smashing a ton, his second in a row.
But it was Dan Christian who turned the match on two occasions. First with the ball, tearing through the Warriors middle order when they looked to be cruising, finishing with 4/32 off 10.
Then with the bat, blasting the Redbacks to a valuable bonus point with a brutal 48 off 21 balls.
The win pushes them into third spot, only NRR behind Victoria in one of the closest Ford Ranger Cup's in recent history, just 4 points between second and last.
Thanks for your company tonight. Join us again on Wednesday as NSW take on Queensland in another mini-final. Good night
short again, pulls and top edges over mid on who can't quite get back to catch and prevent the bonus point
Interesting now, they need one for the bonus point
short ball, rocks back for the pull shot, gets a fair bit of it but picks the man out in the deep, the end of a great knock
full and smashed through mid wicket in the air, well hit though
short and pulled to mid wicket
If Christian gets his 50 this ball it would be the fastest 50 in the competition's history
yorker dug out to long on, very well run
pulls through mid wicket
So the Redbacks now require just 7 runs off this over to win with a bonus point. The bonus point would put them right in contention for a spot in the final.
backs away and goes inside out over cover
down for the slog sweep, gets a big top edge, high into the outfield, three men converge but none can catch!
punched to cover off the back foot
throws it up again, drives to long on
This has been a brutal knock from Christian, strike rate of more than 250!
advances and hits against the spin over mid wicket and down the race next to the Chappell stand
advances and gets an inside edge after he'd yorked himself
