Michael Klinger has continued his outstanding form, making an unbeaten 76 as Victoria romped to an easy nine-wicket win over New South Wales. Klinger has suddenly become the leading run-scorer in the domestic one-day competition this season, following on from his 123 not out against the Blues last week.
Chasing the visitors' meagre 7 for 180, Klinger and Jon Moss did most of the work between them, scoring 126 for the first wicket. Moss was the only man out, bowled by Aaron O'Brien for 59, before Brad Hodge (34 not out) and Klinger closed out the game with 72 balls remaining.
New South Wales were always on the back foot having lost wickets early in their innings. Mick Lewis, Andrew McDonald and Cameron White claimed two each and the total could have been even more unflattering for the Blues were it not for Simon Katich (59) and O'Brien (43).
New South Wales were without their wicketkeeper and star batsman Brad Haddin, who was ruled out with an elbow injury.
