So, a huge win for Sri Lanka in their Group B opener, 243 runs. They earlier blasted their way to 321-6 after electing to bat first, with captain Jayawardene, Sangakkara and World Cup debutant Chamara Silva each racking up half-centuries. It was always going to be a total out of Bermuda's reach. No batsman, bar the cavalier Lionell Cann, got going. Vaas and Malinga struck early, and Maharoof joined in with two in his first over to reduce the minnows to 39 for 7. Muralitharan was given a chance, and he too joined the fun with 2 for 28. Maharoof finished with the best figures, 4 for 23.
