7.20pm Temba Bavuma proudly lifts the trophy, surrounded by his players and there are smiles all around. No crowd in the stands but the photographers are capturing this moment for the South African fans as it will go down in history as one of the most memorable wins. Beating the world No. 1 side 2-1 and then whitewashing them 3-0 in the ODIs. And that when this team is in transition, and was without Anrich Nortje in Tests, and without Rabada in ODIs. Lots of questions to answer for the Indian team management in the coming weeks and months. Hope you enjoyed our coverage of this match and entire tour. It's Vishal Dikshit wishing you good night and good luck, along with Deiva and Chandan. Stay safe as well. Ciao!

Bavuma: Things were a bit crazy at the end. The complacency got to us when we thought we had the game in the bag but we managed to bring things back. A little bit crazy. Very satisfying, it's mission accomplished for us as a team. Not many people gave us much of a chance. I hope we've shown with our performances we've got some more supporters, even with you guys in the commentary box. Quinton's been great, he's shows what a valuable asset he is. Rassie has also been tremendous. The batters as a whole were quite good. The bowling as well, not individually today but yes as a group. This was a big challenge and obstacle in our journey, winning the two series will do good for our confidence. The Test series was the hardest series I was a part of, the Indian bowlers kept asking the hard questions, even the fielding intensity was high. In one-dayers too it wasn't easy, very challenging. Even in these conditions, which were more subcontinent-like, it's another feather in our cap. Very pleasing to contribute to the team, even better when the team wins. I'm enjoying my batting at the moment.

de Kock is the Player of the Match and Series: It wasn't flat at all, I tried to remain positive and that was the key. I like scoring runs against everyone (not just India). Ee had a week of training when I came back after the Tests and the break, there was some time we hadn't played ODIs so I tried to find my feet in the first one.

Rahul: Deepak gave us a real chance. Quite an exciting game, disappointing that we ended up on the losing side. it's quite obvious where we've gone wrong and it's for everyone to see, our shot selection has been really poor as batsmen. Even as bowlers we weren't hitting the good areas consistently. We didn't pressure the opposition for long periods so we ended up losing the series. We need to recognise now how we can get better. what has always stood out for us is the energy and the passion, and the skill and understanding of the game. These kind of mistakes will keep happening, but it's. important we learn and don't keep repeating the mistakes. In the ODIs we repeated some of the mistakes. We need to look at ourselves in the mirror and have some hard conversations. We've had a great time in South Africa, we were looked after really well, thanks to CSA. We had an exciting series, we showed a lot of fight, in patches. We'll go back with learnings and memories, and get better for sure.

6.50pm The South African players come together quickly for hugs and handshakes, there are smiles all around. And why not? What a tour this has been. They lost the first Test in Centurion, and since then they've gone on to win everything. Bavuma has a big smile on his face, Deepak Chahar is equally dejected near the rope, still padded up. The Indian players start coming out of the dressing room for handshakes all around as South Africa soak up this victory in the setting sun. That India came close today, thanks to Chahar, is another story but they will have a lot of reflection to do after this 3-0 loss. Their spinners weren't effective, their middle order didn't rise to the occasion, and they barely clinched any of the decisive moments in the three games. The last time India were whitewashed was two years ago, in New Zealand, and here they are with a different captain, vice-captain, coach, different looking squad, and the result is the same.

South Africa, meanwhile, have plenty to be proud of. Two Test wins to fight back after Centurion, and a clinical win in the ODIs with better work from the spinners, from the batters - many of them contributed - and better defence of their totals too.

What's a close finish without a stat from Sampath? He says it's India's narrowest defeat in ODIs in terms of runs since losing to Australia by three runs in 2009.

Mohneet: "Heartbreaking to see Chahar at the end of the game. But I'm sure he'll learn from it and the next time he's in a similar situation, he'll stay till the end and take the team home. Bright future ahead!"

Pratik : "Who would have thought this start with Dravid coming in as coach"

"I feel dejected not because India lost today, but because you refreshed my memory about the 2009 loss" You know whom to thank, Ravish

Jaspreet Singh: "Very disappointed with the performance of India on this tour where we were considered favorites. Missed Rohit Sharma on this tour"

Rummy: "Even a win here wouldn't have masked the problems India have. The thinking is muddled. Too many chopping and changing. Lots of work for Dravid "

Stoffels: "And SA only won the toss once"

Phehlukwayo to Bumrah, OUT

Bumrah wants to go over the top, but guess who takes the catch - Temba Bavuma! Bumrah thinks of taking India closer to victory with a boundary because singles are hard to come by now. Tries to loft the fuller delivery from outside off but he can't clear mid-off

Ngidi to Chahar, OUT

Chahar falls, this is another twist in the tale! Slower ball wide outside off, Chahar goes after it with a big drive, doesn't middle it at all, and Pretorius goes back towards the edge of the circle, dives backwards and gets under it nicely

another edge, another four over the keeper! Bumrah gets into the act now, he wasn't looking for the single anyway as it was the last ball. He shuffled across a bit, went for the pull against the bouncer, and got enough bat to send that flying over de Kock's head
