full and wide, played to point. All over
That's all we have for you tonight. No we have another email. From Aravind: "So these two teams face off again day after tomorrow? Some nut the guy who made the schedule." Good night and good luck
Presentation
Mike Hussey is the MoM. He says: It certainly was a lot slower than Bangalore. We had to make adjustments quickly. The fielding was outstanding. We had a just-below-par score, but they pulled it back for us. Every time we wanted to kick on, we lost a wicket, but that was the nature of the wicket. We just wanted to try and take it as deep as possible. I thought it was a good score, but probably just below par."
MS Dhoni Very important to win. Can't afford to lose games in a row. Hopefully we can continue the way we are. I don't do too much of planning, I don't attend bowlers' meetings. Every wicket is different, every situation is different. I always go without any pre-planned ideas in the mind. It helps me. Doesn't restrict me. We didn't have too many runs, you have the feeling if they got off to a good start, it would have been difficult. We started well, our fielding added to it, it is something we want to keep doing."
Yuvraj Singh "No regrets. We bowled really well. Jerome, Alfonso and Rahul bowled really well, along with Kartik. If you are four down inside the six overs, it is difficult to come back. A lot of blame goes to me too, I should have finished the game. Third time this has happened against Chennai that I have started well and lost my way later."
Chennai back to winning ways. Well done. It would be tempting to say Chennai enjoyed a lot of luck when they were batting, but they made the most out of it. Yuvraj too survived a plumb LBW. Chennai accepted their gifts. And they were smashing in the field, while Pune missed many run-outs and half-chances for catches. A well-deserved win for Chennai. Stay with us for the presentation
Madhu has a fresh approach: "@ Sid - NZ is winning the Anzac day battle. Fleming (our could-be new coach is to be praised) vs Goeff Marsh." Sweet as
full, on the pads, single to fine leg
short, at his ribs, Thomas gets the short one too, fended away
low full toss, gets a single to long-on
Exclamation mark from an Aussie on Anzac Day. Dismissing a Kiwi. Quick, sharp bouncer, aimed at his jaw. McCullum hooks, gets a top edge that goes nowhere. Gone
Kartik is the new man, but at the non-striker's end
hit to long-on, wants to come back for two, and Mukund is in action again. From long-on, he hits the stumps direct. Taylor has to go
Bollinger to finish off. McCullum to face. Aussies are winning this on the Anzac Day
Nearly another blinder! Taylor mis-hits this one, and Abhinav Mukund runs backwards from extra cover, and while doing so nearly pulls off a stunner overhead. But as he comes down, the impact and the jerk throw the ball out of his grip
sharp bouncer - giving some of his own medicine back to Taylor, but it is called a wide for height
Out comes Jerome Taylor
slower bouncer, too good for McCullum, and Dhoni underarms this as they try to steal the bye. And Sharma is short of the crease
slower ball, gets an inside edge square on the on side
Rahul Sharma to bat
And the Chennai crowd can now say: ""asthalakadi gala gala gala ooh aah ooh aah"
Jakati flies across at extra cover! Length ball outside off, on his day Yuvraj would have hit this for a six blindfolded. This hasn't been his day, though, and he has struggled for timing bar two beautiful straight drives. And this one hits the toe end, and is going towards straightish extra cover when Jakati comes flying across and intercepts it beautifully
mis-hit, over Morkel's head, Yuvraj shouts two from the off, and comes back comfortably even though they target his end
slogged away, but gets just the single to deep square. This was a length ball, and was there to be hit
Morkel comes back
Superb over. Just four off. More than three a ball now
good shot, crunchy drive through the covers, but can't beat sweeper-cover
back of a length, mis-hit down to long-on, just the single - another singe and it will come up to three runs required per ball
hit over cover, and short of sweeper-cover, gets a single, won't do for Pune
Mid-off comes up, fine leg goes back. Good thinking. McCullum has hit a few scoops in the past
near yorker on leg stump, Yuvraj swings, gets the inside edge onto the pad, takes the single
quicker short ball, Yuvraj backs away and pulls, is beaten
slower ball, beats Yuvraj's attempt to run it down to third man. It's getting steeper and steeper
Bollinger to bowl No. 18 and No. 20 if nothing goes wrong this over
hit to the left of long-on, they come back for two. Yuvraj will be on strike
