clatter! all over, Punjab are alive, Hussey makes room outside leg, takes two steps out, gets under a full delivery and that is sailing over the sightscreen
Kochi vs Kings XI, 57th match at Indore,IPL, May 13 2011 - Match Result
Kings XI won by 6 wickets (with 7 balls remaining)
Mahela Jayawardene has broken the record for most catches by a fielder (5) in IPL for KOCHI, going past Vinay Kumar's 4
Karthik and Shaun Marsh's 111-run partnership is PBKS's highest for the 3rd wicket in IPL, breaking the record of 86 between Mahela Jayawardene and Yuvraj Singh
Punjab still in with a chance. That will be all from us for this game. This is Abhishek Purohit signing off for now. Join us for tomorrow's double header. Till then, it is good bye.
Dinesh Karthik is the Man of the Match. Karthik: "We always bank on Paul and Gilly to give us a good start, but they bowled well at the start. Depends on the situation, I try and see the field if I can get away with it, then I try all those silly shots. Preity said some good things to us, did not get down after five losses."
Adam Gilchrist: "I thought 200-plus was looking likely but we pegged them back. Really pleased with the bowlers and a comprehensive batting effort. It is always a happy environment when you are winning. McCullum and Mahela were flying but the bowlers and fielders stuck at it. We have a game or two in hand on most teams and might sneak up. Shaun Marsh is the dominator at the moment in our line-up but Dinesh was excellent."
Mahela Jayawardene: "We knew it was a small boundary, that is why we would have chased as well. 180 was a par score. We did not bowl well after picking up those early wickets. We haven't been consistent, we had our chance in this tournament. It is good to go up the order and enjoy myself which I have been doing. We need to pick ouselves up and finish off on a good note. We came back with those two wickets, it wasn't enough."
Hang on for the presentation
David Hussey: "glad we are putting a few wins together now. I think last ten overs our fielding and bowling was excellent. Dinesh and Marsh set us up in the game."
Punjab jump over Kochi to sixth position. RP looks very disappointed. It was Dinesh who did it with 69 off 33, along with Marsh. Kochi just cannot seem to win at 'home'.
runs in and fires the fuller delivery that goes between Hussey's legs as he moves about in the crease
Sree from round the wicket
that'll help, it is Hussey with the boundary, shuffles and flicks a length ball high over midwicket,
excellent yorker from Sreesanth, he gets the legs out of the way, and manages to get bat down to jam it away on the leg side
bowls a high full toss that a surprised batsman pats down the track, Sree cannot stop it and concedes the single
Sree is back
slightly short and he latches on in a flash, pulling it in to the gap between deep square leg and deep midwicket
Hussey can't connect with the flick but takes the run as the ball rolls away on the off side
gets the single down the ground to long off
again Mandeep goes through the off side, more work for the man at sweeper cover
hit away for a single through midwicket
its the flying Baz again, cut hard off the front foot, he appears out of nowhere at point to save the boundary with the big dive and even finds time to fire in the throw at the non-striker's
siva: "Not many closed matches in this season, only 2 so far, opening match between Chennai & Kolkata, other one between Pune and Mumbai. This might be the 3rd one."
more confident driving from Mandeep, full ball slammed away to sweeper cover
Mandeep is playing this shot really well, length ball outside off and he crashes it past point off the front foot
the sling from Vinay after stopping in the delivery stride, but it is sliding down leg
heaved away down the ground to long on for a single
slower one, comes on after ages, he waits an eternity before cutting straight to point, has to hurry back as the throw comes in
shot! don't move, that is headed for the wide long off boundary, pitched full and he drives it in the gap past extra cover, crucial boundary
he comes forward and crunches a full ball off the front foot, goes in the air again to sweeper cover
Jadeja saves the run with a diving stop to his left as hussey drives weakly down the track, excellent over
rushes down the track and flashes this one wide of sweeper cover in the air
