That's a wrap from us for this game. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Do tune in on Thursday as the India Capitals take on the Manipal Tigers. Till then, stay safe, goodbye and goodnight!

William Porterfield, Player of the Match: It was enjoyable. Took a bit of time to get going in the last over. It was quite nice to get going early. It was obviously nice to play a game and come back tonight and put that right. The body is not feeling too bad, and I am okay.

Virender Sehwag, Gujarat Giants captain: They scored too many runs. 222 is a lot of runs to chase on any wicket. We thought if one of Chris Gayle or O'Brien could click, we had a chance. Wicket was good to bat on. Me and Gayle were batting and we could not get a boundary in the powerplay. After that, wickets kept falling. Today is not their [bowling unit's] day. The Kings outplayed us in all departments. We won first two games, then we have lost two. Hopefully we can repeat the good performances in the next few matches.

Irfan Pathan, Bhilwara Kings captain: Two back-to-back games. We could have won yesterday as well. Our openers literally took the game away from them. It was either me or Yusuf bhai at No.3. At that time, it was needed to get the momentum. It was tough to straightaway hit in the middle overs. Once I got going, it was a decent innings. It was important to let Gayle know that our plan was about spin. That was our proper plan to manoeuvre the bowlers. If Gayle gets going, things can get messy. We needed to keep him quiet and not let him get away. We have one of the best bowling attacks, as far as pace is concerned and I wanted them to be aggressive. In the end, very happy.

Right. This game promised so much at the start, especially when Sehwag announced that Gayle would be playing. But once the Kings had put up 222 runs on the board, it never looked like the Giants would hunt it down. They struggled during the powerplay and could not get any momentum through the middle overs either. Yashpal Singh waged a lone battle towards the end, although by then, the result had become a foregone conclusion. Plenty to ponder for the Giants, who now sit below the Kings, who have leapfrogged them into second. Their NRR has also taken a beating and it would be interesting to see how they react moving forward

Best to Yashpal Singh, OUT

cleans him up! Best gets the wicket he has been wanting all evening! And that will also be that for the Giants tonight. Searing yorker on off stump that might have tailed into the batter very late. Yashpal makes a hurried attempt to stab it away but by then, the ball has whistled past the bat and sent off stump flying. A fitting end to a dominant Kings display

Best to Appanna, 1 run

back of a length delivery outside off stump. Appanna goes back and punches the ball into the off side before getting across to the other end. Irfan Pathan fields the ball and seems to have injured himself in the process. He is feeling his left hamstring, let's hope it is just a cramp

length delivery way outside off stump. Appanna throws his hands at it without a care in the world and slices it over backward point for a boundary

Best to Appanna, no run

length delivery just outside off stump that skids through. Appanna has a massive swipe at it but gets nowhere close to it

Just one over to go, and the Giants require 63 runs. They have done quite well to get this close, and that should be enough to tell you how skewed this contest has been tonight

Edwards to Emrit, OUT

huge appeal and that is plumb in front! Full delivery darted into the batter on middle and off stump. Emrit shuffles across too early and cuts himself off in the end. He can't access the ball and it thuds into the pads, right in front of middle and off stump. Edwards appeals and this time, the umpire raises her finger

Tossed up on a length at the stumps, and Yashpal looks to go downtown. He is not to the pitch of the ball, though, and shanks it towards long on. Srivastava runs in from the fence, dives forward and seems to complete the catch. But replays indicate that the ball has bounced before reaching the fielder. Yashpal survives

There is a review ongoing for a clean catch. Yashpal hit it towards long on, where Srivastava dived forward and claimed the catch
