there it is...finished in fine fashion as Afridi drills a full ball straight down the ground
Warwickshire vs Northants, 1st Semi-Final at Birmingham, Aug 29 2015 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Northants won by 5 wickets (with 12 balls remaining)
A very calm finish by this pair - Levi and Afridi - after a small wobble for Northants who are in the T20 Blast final. They continue to defy the odds, and predictions, by taking a big scalp in Birmingham. Apart from the battle shakes in the middle that was an outstanding display, on the other hand Birmingham had a very bad day. Who will join Northants in the final? I'll be back in half an hour for the build-up to the second semi between Lancashire and Hampshire.
short outside off, fetched through the leg side to deep midwicket...scores are level
full toss which is whipped through the leg side
Will Afridi try to win it in one shot?
full and straight, worked off his toes to fine leg
short again, pulled from outside off to deep midwicket
back-of-a-length slower ball, delicately dabbed towards third man...yes, delicate from Afridi
Hannon-Dalby back. Birmingham need a miracle.
James: "Whilst Willey will get a lot of deserved credit for his opening spell, Levi should be MoM as without his sensible but still fast paced innings Northants would be down and out by now"
full and straight, flicked to deep midwicket
a wide yorker outside off, Afridi plays over the top of it...called wide
tucks a length delivery into the leg side
full, down the leg side, glances very fine off the pad...three boundaries in the three balls. Northants nearly there
a slower short ball, Levi goes for the pull and it dribbles off a bottom edge towards short third man where the fielder dives over the ball. Pressure off
terrific placement, Levi drives a full ball to the left of mid-off...all along the ground, this is a very sensible innings
full at off stump, 86mph, dug out to the covers
Woakes is back
Chris: "Afridi choosing to do it in singles - admittedly a series of massive heaves mishit for singles ..." Patel is finished
makes better connection with this one, slugged through the leg side but deep midwicket gets around the boundary
dragged down short, but only costs a single as it's pulled to deep midwicket
extra run, extra ball as this is fired down the leg side
Srikanth: "Afridi go for Boom Boom!!! We are waiting for it!!!"
full again, no room on offer, heaved to long on
lovely bowling, a yorker which Afridi gets a toe end on
calmly tucked through the leg side
dragged down short, goes miles in the air but lands short of deep midwicket! So close for Birmingham. Afridi aiming to send that out of the ground, got too far underneath it
Patel is back for his last over
