Scorecard
A six-wicket haul from Mthokozisi Shezi helped South Africa A to their second win of the tournament after a 100-ball 108 from Travis Head had kept National Performance Squad alive in their chase of 282 at Gardens Oval. Left-arm seamer Shezi took the first three wickets of NPS's innings to leave them 42 for 3 before Head and Ashton Turner put on 117 for the fourth wicket to bring the chase back on track.
Head then added 47 with Sean Willis to take NPS past the 200-run mark before Shezi dismissed both batsmen in quick succession to put South Africa A back on top. The last six wickets fell for 48, with Shezi taking the wicket of James Muirhead to finish with figures of 6 for 42.
Having chosen to bat, South Africa A lost Heino Kuhn early before Reeza Hendricks and Rilee Rossouw put on 134 for the second wicket, with Rossouw striking 12 fours and a six in a 70-ball 74. Hendricks then added 43 with Justin Ontong before he was also out for 74, having faced 91 balls and struck five fours and a six. Ontong, Farhaan Behardien and Vaughn van Jaarsveld made useful scores as South Africa pushed to a total of 281 for 8. Jason Behrendorff was NPS's most successful bowler, with figures of 4 for 55 in nine overs.
