Scorecard
Western Australia completed their domination of South Australia with a 104-run win that moved them off the bottom of the table. The Redbacks made a decent start in their pursuit of 351 for victory but lost 5 for 9 to be all out for 246, allowing the Warriors to leapfrog them on the way to third.
The fast bowler Brad Knowles was responsible for the quick finish by picking up the final three wickets, including the lbw of the last-man-out Cullen Bailey, who hung on for almost half an hour without scoring. Knowles walked off with 4 for 33 while Steve Magoffin and Aaron Heal had two wickets each.
Western Australia risked their strong position by setting up the run-chase after the hosts closed their first innings 152 behind on Sunday, but they remained on top on the final day. After losing James Smith without adding to his overnight 26, South Australia relied on Daniel Harris and Michael Klinger to set the platform in the hope they could build quickly later on. Harris reached a cautious 42 while Klinger accelerated towards the end of his 60 in partnership with Mark Cosgrove.
However, when Klinger and Cosgrove (47) fell to Magoffin in consecutive overs the Redbacks were 4 for 179 and their best hope was a draw. Heal and Knowles ended those dreams pretty quickly.
