Johnson adds more wickets to tally

Mitchell Johnson added another three wickets to his tally on the third day in Perth in preparation for a likely call-up to Australia's squad for the first Ashes Test

Western Australia 230 and 2 for 53 need another 266 runs to beat South Australia 222 and 326 (Head 92, Smith 57, Mennie 55, Hogan 3-63, Johnson 3-88)
Scorecard
Mitchell Johnson added another three wickets to his tally on the third day in Perth in preparation for a likely call-up to Australia's squad for the first Ashes Test. Johnson and Michael Hogan each collected three wickets in South Australia's second innings of 326 and at the close of play, the Warriors were 2 for 53 in their chase of 319, with opener Cameron Bancroft on 16, having just lost Marcus North (37) and nightwatchman Jason Behrendorff (0) to Trent Lawford.
Earlier, South Australia rode on the efforts of two of their young batsman, Travis Head and Kelvin Smith, who combined for a 93-run stand. Head missed out on the chance for a maiden first-class century when he was caught off the bowling of Johnson for 92 and Smith fell to Hogan for 57, before Joe Mennie also chipped in with 55.
Johnson's wickets meant he finished the match with 5 for 162, but he also had five catches put down off his bowling throughout the match, and importantly he was able to make the South Australia batsmen uncomfortable with short deliveries. Johnson is likely to join Peter Siddle, Ryan Harris, James Faulkner and perhaps Ben Hilfenhaus in the pace group when Australia's first Test squad is named next week.
