England 99/10(26.1 overs)

It's the Sri Lankan fans singing in the north-east, they are level in this five-match series with the next rubber coming up on Wednesday at Old Trafford, 1pm BST start for that one, see you then...

Here's the Presentation. What is Eoin Morgan going to make of this: "Abysmal really, we lacked partnerships and never really got anything going. I can't explain it. It did a little bit. We talked about a partnership of substance but it wasn't there. We talked about getting through the first 10 overs but lost wickets consistently and underperformed massively. We've been outplayed in conditions we normally thrive on. We don't drop too many catches in training but again we were a little bit sloppy in the field."

Angelo Mathews: "It was a pleasing performance on a sporty wicket. The batters had to work really hard but Dilshan played outstandingly well. We were not really sure at half-time but the bowlers were great, very aggressive. The conditions were a challenge for our team, it was cold out there. Kulasekera is unplayable in these conditions and Senanayake has a lot of confidence and was outstanding once again."

Tillakaratne Dilshan is Man of the Match not for his ear-warmers when fielding but for his fine 88 that set the match up for Sri Lanka.

England would probably have been fairly pleased at lunch with a handy bowling performance to ensure Sri Lanka didn't run away from them, although more drop catches and plenty of wides were a further sign of slipperiness. But that batting performance was an absolute shocker. It wobbled with the new ball but there was nothing excessive. Nor was their an abundance of help for the spinner and yet England were tripped up.

Good heavens, England have been obliterated. The Oval was merely a ray of light among the storm clouds which have swarmed over them again in the north-east. An absolute hammering by 157 runs with their sixth-lowest ODI score. No-one expected that at half-time but after wickets with the new ball, Senanayake took over to rip through the lower-middle order and Sri Lanka have levelled the series in some style here.

Senanayake to Anderson, OUT

a charge down the wicket, wild swing having got nowhere near the pitch of the ball and Anderson is bowled and England have been routed here. A pretty ugly ending with a miserable shot from Anderson to lose his off stump. Completes an excellent spell from Senanayake, his fourth wicket

Prasad to Gurney, FOUR runs

a step to leg, the bowler follows the batsman who tries an awkward pull and gets a thick bottom edge that runs wide of the diving Sangakkara

25.5
Prasad to Gurney, no run

another swing and miss, this time sort of aiming leg side to a similar ball

25.4
Prasad to Gurney, no run

short again, Gurney this time swings and misses

25.3
Prasad to Gurney, no run

back of a length on the stumps, Gurney steps inside it and allows it to pass

So last rites for England. Quiet contemplation is going to be needed after this...

Prasad to Morgan, OUT

back of a length, pulled hard, good timing but Morgan has perfectly picked out deep midwicket who holds a solid catch. Morgan was understandably swinging at anything in his zone and he made a great connection but couldn't keep it down or indeed get the direction right
