9.21 pm The Phoenix break a major gridlock on the table to move two points clear of much of the field - including Oval Invincibles - and now sit on eight points, tied for second place with London Spirit. They trail only the Trent Rockets who are in first place with 10 points.

Kane Richardson is the Match Hero taking 3 for 22: "It's always nice to win. That's a tough ground to defend on. The feedback at the halfway point was there was plenty of pace and bounce in the wicket. Tom Helm did a very nice job in the middle and there and getting both Curran brothers, he should probably be standing here to be honest. They're a team that just keeps coming so to get a win at this stage is massive. I think we know we're going to be a pretty hard team to beat at home so to get this win is big. Destiny is in our hands."

That's it for our coverage tonight. Come back tomorrow for another doubleheader featuring the London Spirit and Welsh Fire. On behalf of Andrew Miller, I'm Peter Della Penna. See you all tomorrow!

1
Howell to Mohammad Hasnain, 1 run

full on the stumps, driven to long-on for one. Phoenix hold on to claim two points.

99
Howell to Mohammad Hasnain, no run

slower ball yorker on sixth stump, Hasnain charges and swings over the top of this and the air is sucked out of the home crowd.

98
4
Howell to Mohammad Hasnain, FOUR runs

Still alive! Full and wide yorker, Hasnain slices this over short third to go for four. Two sixes needed to win.

97
6
Howell to Mohammad Hasnain, SIX runs

There's one! Length ball on middle, heaves this high and deep over midwicket and just clears the leaping fielder on the rope.

Three sixes and a four are needed from here. You never know... Here's Hasnain arriving at the crease.

96
W
Howell to Milnes, OUT

full on off, drives this in the air toward long-off, Richardson shuffles along the rope to hold on to an easy catch at chest height two yards inside the rope.

Matt Milnes c Richardson b Howell 4 (2b 1x4 0x6 6m) SR: 200

Howell to bowl the final set with an extra fielder forced into the ring.

OI-M: 145/7Need 22 from 5 balls
Matt Milnes4 (1b 1x4)
Sunil Narine6 (6b 1x4)
Kane Richardson 3/22 (20)

So 22 needed off the final set of five balls. The cutoff time has passed. An extra fielder has to come into the ring now for the final five balls. So still some hope for the Invincibles.

95
4
Kane Richardson to Milnes, FOUR runs

good length ball on the stumps, Milnes shuffles across to ramp this wide of Wade behind the stumps and beats him splitting the gap with short fine leg to the rope.

94
1
Kane Richardson to Narine, 1 run

full on the stumps, driven to long-on for one.

Cutoff time is a minute away now.

93
Kane Richardson to Narine, no run

fullish length ball on seventh stump, drives this straight back to Richardson.

92
4
Kane Richardson to Narine, FOUR runs

length ball angled across the stumps hugging the wide guideline, this time Narine has a go and slices this over third man to the rope.

91
Kane Richardson to Narine, no run

full toss at knee height on an attempted wide yorker. Narine inexplicably leaves this alone wanting a wide to be called. It was there at a height to be smashed and he didn't want to have a bite. Deemed legal by the umpires on the line.

CHANGE OF END

OI-M: 136/7Need 31 from 10 balls
Sunil Narine1 (2b)
Tom Helm 3/11 (20)

Wickets falling, but also the time is inching close to the cutoff. Will it matter though if the tail is left to bat when a possible fielding penalty is applied forcing another fielder into the ring for the final set of five balls?

90
W
Helm to Sam Curran, OUT

Fullish length ball angled across Curran on seventh stump toward the wide guideline, goes to drive and a thin edge is held behind by Wade.

Sam Curran c †Wade b Helm 30 (20b 0x4 3x6 42m) SR: 150
89
1
Helm to Narine, 1 run

slower ball back of a length on off stump, Narine pulls this to deep midwicket for one.

Cutoff time is three minutes away....

88
Helm to Narine, no run

Greeted with a bouncer immediately on the legs, Narine swings under this.

Narine enters.

87
W
Helm to Tom Curran, OUT

goes for wide yorker, Tom Curran slices this ankle high full toss flat in the air straight to deep backward point at head height. Fielder isn't really placed there as a catching position for a wide yorker but Helm lucks out to get a wicket off this ball.

Tom Curran c Smeed b Helm 30 (12b 2x4 3x6 11m) SR: 250
86
Helm to Tom Curran, no run

good length ball on fifth stump, goes to drive through the off side but misses.

OI-M: 135/5Need 32 from 15 balls
Tom Curran30 (10b 2x4 3x6)
Sam Curran30 (19b 3x6)
Henry Brookes 1/34 (20)

32 off 15 is looking very gettable right now.

85
6
Brookes to Tom Curran, SIX runs

waist high full toss on fifth stump, Tom Curran whips this wristily over square leg with a helicopter shot and it sails into the 20th row of the stands.

84
4
Brookes to Tom Curran, FOUR runs

slower ball short and wide, goes to cut and slices this high over short third backspinning away to the rope.

83
Brookes to Tom Curran, no run

slower ball lands on a good length on fifth stump, swings over the top of it and it goes through to the keeper.

82
4
Brookes to Tom Curran, FOUR runs

full and wide yorker, but even better from Tom Curran to squirt this with an open face behind point past the ring fielder and still has enough juice on it to beat the sweeper too.

81
1
Brookes to Sam Curran, 1 run

short on the body, pulls this off a bottom edge just wide of the keeper for one.

10 minutes left to bowl 20 balls. We could see a fielding penalty applied if the match goes the distance. Those wides from Tahir ate into the time last over.
