Another slower ball, full and angled across the stumps. Junaid backs away and looks to whip it away but misses and Pakistan confirm their second win in two days
U.A.E. vs Pakistan, 2nd Match at Sharjah, UAE Tri-Series, Aug 30 2025 - Ball by Ball Commentary
11pm So that's all from today. Pakistan with two commanding victories in their two games so far. A perfect start. But can they maintain that? And can UAE come back strong? There will be a break tomorrow and then Afghanistan take on UAE on Monday. Join us for that game. On behalf of everyone at ESPNcricinfo, it's Sreshth Shah signing off.
10.50pm Time for the presentation ceremony.
Pakistan captain, Salman Agha: "It was a perfect batting game. First 15 overs with the bowling we were good, but the last five overs we need to work on. It's something we have been working on but yeah we need to get better. [On the middle order contributions] I have been saying that [Hasan Nawaz] is a generational talent and has a great future. He has to keep working on his game and keep improving. I think our death bowling is something we are working on and it's concerning. We need to be better in the next game, but overall we have been playing really well and this is how we want to continue playing."
UAE captain, Muhammad Waseem: "I would say it's a good game. I think we gave them 15-20 runs extra, otherwise I would say it was a good game. [On Asif Khan's knock] He has played so many innings like this, we were confident in him. We missed someone scoring 30-40 runs for us in the middle [to support him]. [On their bowling] I think we were doing well in the powerplay but then gave too many runs so we'll take lessons."
Saim Ayub, the MOTM: "It's good that different players are different matches. That's what we want. Actually, I don't like individual awards. They are pretty overrated. It's a team game and the team winning matters. It's about the execution, waiting for the bad balls and which lengths are easy to hit on according to the pitch. Working on my bowling with the coach and getting better at it. [On consistency] It's difficult. It's challenging. But if you keep your thought process, it helps you."
10.40pm Pakistan continue their perfect start to this tri-series with a commanding win over UAE. Asif Khan played a blinder to bring down the margin of defeat, but this was a comprehensive performance from Pakistan. Saim Ayub set up the platform with his 38-ball 69 before Hasan Nawaz also chipped in with a quick fifty. Mohammad Nawaz and Faheem Ashraf were the only other batters to go into double-figures but it was enough for Pakistan to cross 200. Then, Muhammad Waseem was run out and Hasan Ali bagged a wicket next ball in the sixth over as UAE lost their momentum and then some quick wickets took the game out of their reach, even despite Asif's late assault.
Ahmed : "I think the only negative from Pakistan's side was that they leak a lot of runs in death overs and just before death overs. They usually come in a good position and randomly leak runs."
Full outside off, Junaid Siddique very early into the shot as he is beaten by the lack of pace there
Hasan Ali picking up some final-over wickets here. Goes full around off and Saghir Khan looks to go big down the ground, but can only go as far as long-on
Full and angled into Haider Ali, who looks to whip it leg side and gets a leading edge to deep third
Asif's stunning knock comes to an end He walks off having played a blinder, even if it wasn't enough. This was a bouncer outside off and he went for the pull but got it off the top edge. And it's the bigger side and Farhan takes a good catch. Hasan gives Asif a pat for that innings as the UAE batter walks back
Full outside off, Asif backs away and slashes hard to get it over short third! UAE may be out of the game but Asif is trying to bring down the deficit as much as possible
Of course, if Asif Khan can hammer six sixes, we are going to a Super Over... Hasan Ali to bowl
Full on off and Saghir misses out, meaning UAE mathematically are out of this unless Pakistan bowl extras
Swivelled and pulled for six! Saghir Khan's previous boundary was lucky, but there was no fortune involved here, pure skill. Waits on this short ball angled across and nails the shot over square leg
Low full toss outside off, drilled down the ground to long-off
AJ: "This brother Asif was picking the bones of the Bangladeshi bowlers, particularly the spinners, when the two sides met. A real enforcer in the middle that franchises can take note of."
Slower ball, full and angled across, Asif again wants to go downtown but mistimes his shot
Hammered down the ground and it lands in front of the sight screen! Full and angled across him, he clears his front leg and uses those long levers to muscle it down the ground
Asif shows he's not just about the power but has finesse too! Goes across the stumps and scoops this full ball outside off over fine leg. Cheeky stuff
Goes wide and across him, Asif can't connect. But it's too wide
Dropped short and angled across him, looks to slap it away on the off side and can only get it to cover on the bounce off the bottom half of the bat
Short again, Asif again looks to slap it away on the off side but miscues it to long-off on the bounce
Another boundary for Asif as Muqeem misses his length again. Too short and it's slapped over cover with authority
Tossed full around off, squeezed out through cover
Another huge hit! This is out of the ground too! This time Muqeem drags it down and he rocks back and finds the same road outside the stadium! Muscled over deep midwicket!
Umpires pick out a new ball and throw it to Sufyan Muqeem
Asif brings up his fifty in fantastic style! He's hit this out of the park! Makes great connection with this slot ball and sends it flying over midwicket and out of the stadium
Muqeem to bowl out
Nails the yorker outside off and Saghir can't connect with an attempted swipe across the line
