4.55 pm To borrow a phrase from another sport, "Cricket, bloody hell! In a year that had the Gabba heist by the Indians, the West Indians have pulled another rabbit out of the hat. The bandwagon moves to Dhaka from here, where the teams will lock horns starting February 11. Hope to see you all then. For the moment, this is Debayan saying goodbye on behalf of Ranjith P, Hemant Brar and the rest of our colleagues over at ESPNcricinfo. Follow the game...there's a fair few going around still...

Kraigg Brathwaite: "I have believed in this team from Day 1. It's just believing ourselves and to back our plans, and that's what we have done till Day 5. We lost some momentum with three wickets in the evening, but the pitch was playing well. We knew it was an open game. We trusted our plans, and Bonner and Mayers showed that they can stick to the plans, and make it work. Was happy with the score [of 76 in the first innings], Jermaine Blackwood, Mayers and Joshua Da Silva had also played well. On a pitch not giving up, the bowlers gave it all. Shannon Gabriel, Kemar Roach and the spinners all did well to keep them under three an over. I won't say it was a depleted side. I was very confident when leaving with this side. We were outplayed in 2018, and we were confident we would do better this time."

Kyle Mayers is the man of the match: "I am always a positive person. I always believe in my abilities and the team, and I always was positive. We never gave up. We always said in the dressing room that we need to keep fighting. The captain and coach told the bowlers as well that you need to keep fighting on a pitch like this. Shannon [Gabriel] put in great effort. It's a great feeling to be playing Test cricket. Then to go on and score a century, and then to make it a double, and then going on to win this Test. I would like to be thankful to my teammates, my coaches and family back home. A guy making his debut and making a double should inspire all youngsters to work hard and reach this level."

4.45 pm Mominul Haque speaks: "Mayers and Bonner played really well. We didn't create enough chances, and our bowlers didn't bowl enough in the right areas. But all credit goes to Bonner and Mayers who batted really well. On the last day, if the wicket was a bit more helpful for spinners, we could have created more chances, but we didn't grab those chances. We lost, but we got some positives. We played the first innings as a team, and we dominated first four days. Mehidy played really well, and he bowled very well too. [Fitness concerns] It was very difficult, especially in the first innings, to play a Test match after no four-day cricket for a year."

Kyle Mayers of Barbados, on a day after the country lost a former cricketer in Ezra Moseley, has put himself in an elite list of batsmen with 200 in the fourth innings of a Test. Only the second time that it has led to a win. To do it in your debut game...PHEW!

This has simply been a superb Test match to be associated with. We'll bring you the presentations shortly, and there'll be lots of reactions, analyses on ESPNcricinfo. Congratulations to the West Indies. They cannot lose this series now

4.29 pm It's an innings to beat any that you would have ever seen! Kyle Mayers has pulled the chestnuts out of the fire, and batted through a tricky Day 5 pitch in Chattogram to seize this unlikely win for a West Indies team that, remember, is missing a number of first-team regulars through various reasons. Three debutants in all, and two of them, Mayers and Nkrumah Bonner are the architects of this win. There's some celebration around, but they look like they have expected it all along. Some long faces in the Bangladesh camp, but they can say they were part of a historic Test match in the second month of 2021! Mayers winds up with the second-highest score on debut by a West Indian and this is also the highest successful run chase in Asia.

fullish length, he looks to defend. It goes off pad towards forward short leg, but Bangladesh take the review anyway. It's a quickish delivery, and seems to have beaten him for turn and bounce. No nudge on this. Stays not out, as it also would have comfortably missed the leg stump

Sanjay : "Phenomenal stuff from the boys! Rally round the WI. We're partying here in Trinidad "

Scores level then

Jack: "Whoever thinks the West Indies should be dropped from Test status, drop your heads in shame. This is why cricket is the greatest sport of them all"

Richard: "A 100 partnership to finish!!" --- Yes, just about. Would have been lovely to have seen it all the way through

124.3

Taijul to Da Silva, OUT

that's gone through him! Da Silva stretches forward to defend, but this doesn't turn. Goes on with the arm from around off, and goes through the gap between bat and pad. West Indies had lost five for six in the first innings, but you get the impression they are better placed this time to see it home!
