9.50pm That ends our offerings for the night. A special win for India from a tough position when they were batting. We will be back day after tomorrow for the final ODI of the series, which is now a dead rubber. Thanks for joining us. And just a reminder that if you are in the US, you can sign up for ESPN+ here and watch live coverage of the India vs West Indies series and much more. Goodbye

9.40pm "We let is slip with the bat," says Nicholas Pooran, the West Indies captain. "We weren't able to put up partnerships, kept losing wickets. The more cricket we play together, hopefully that helps us as batters. Odean is special. He is a strong guy, runs in can bowl 145. He is still young. With experience, sky is the limit for him."

"Winning the series is a good feeling without a doubt," says Rohit Sharma, the India captain. "There were some challenges that we had to face today. That partnership between KL and Surya. That is the maturity we need. We got to a respectable total, which was important. With the ball we were outstanding. The entire unit came together and performed together as a unit. It is important for these guys to bat in those kind of situations. That is when you can judge them. Today's knock with give Surya a lot of confidence. The pitch was not easy. So he batted and did what the team wanted and not what he wants to do. KL too, and that little innings from Hooda in the end. I have been asked to do different things, so this was different. People will be happy seeing Rishabh open then, but yeah it is not permanent. We will get Shikhar back next game, and he need some game time. It is not always the results. We want to try a few things with the long term in the mind so we don't mind if we lose the odd game in the process. I was a little surprised to not see the dew but again I am not taking anything away from the bowling unit. I have not seen that kind of spell in a long long time in India. He bowled with skill, he bowled with pace. All in all a great bowling effort."

"I have been striving to do this for quite some time now," says Prasidh Krishna, the Player of the Match. "So I am happy it came off and we won the match. Nothing special, I was just looking to hit the good areas. Even when I went to bat it was still seaming so I knew there was something in it for me when we bowled. I wanted to keep it tight, keep it simple, and let the ball do the talking. Be as consistent as possible, bowl straighter lines, bowl good lengths."

9.30pm "Yes there was some tension in the end because you know in day-night games with the dew coming in, anything can happen if one of the batsmen gets some shots in," says Shardul Thakur. "All the fast bowlers were bowling well, and there was something in the wicket, so the idea was to get wickets whenever we bowled. Even when we batted, they used the short ball very well. There was pace in the pitch so we had to bowl the short ball."

Sarthak: "a whopping 45 dots out of 54 balls and just 1 boundary conceded.. Sublime stuff from Krishna! absolutely sensational! He could very well be India's back up pacer for Bumrah and Shami!"

9.27pm Krishna ends up with figures of 9-3-12-4 as India defend a total in a manner that will satisfy them no end. They have backed a hit-the-deck bowler over a swing bowler, and it has produced tangible results on the night even though the intangible shift and impact was plain to see in the last two games too.

Prasidh to Roach, OUT

a wicket-maiden to end the innings with, but my suspicion is this one is going over because of Krishna;'s height and the bounce in this pitch. Roach, though, doesn't review it. He is across his stumps, right in front and hit on the pad by a length ball. The umpire's finger goes up immediately, and India seal the series. Replays show it is hitting the leg stump so my suspicion is wrong

Sundar to Smith, OUT

and Washington has completed a superb defensive over. Not one ball out of three is in Smith's swinging reach. He still tries to go over the on side, but the pitch and the big outfield are Washington's friends here. He has kept it short of a driving length, has the time to turn the ball, and Smith ends up lobbing this to deep midwicket. Not even close to threatening the ropes. This has to be the game

Odean Smith c Kohli b Washington Sundar 24 (37m 20b 1x4 2x6) SR: 120

dip on this, short of driving length, some turn. Smith can't go big on this one. Defended back

Point, long-off, long-on, midwicket, square leg are back on the fence. Okay deep point now moves straighter to deep cover

place just wide enough of square leg in the circle to hand the strike over to Smith

Under 50 required. Two of these six overs have to be bowled by the fifth bowler, who is not having a great night. India go to him now. Washington Sundar to bowl. He has Joseph on strike first ball. How long can he keep him on strike?

that is smart placement even though it is a mis-hit. He knows there is no deep cover in place and he is always hitting there as soon as he sees a wide ball within his reach. Toe-ends it but it is safe and in the gap

slower offcutter, just short of a length, Smith is looking for the big hit into the leg side, but toe-ends it back to Siraj

Siraj to Smith, FOUR runs

you can have a deep midwicket in place, but what do you do, Jack, if the man drills it so hard he can't even field five yards to his right? This is a full toss, and it has been bludgeoned along the ground and just to the left of the man. No chance for the fielder
