full outside off, Alam chips it to cover to be dismissed off the final ball of the innings - which means England win by 36 runs and get their WT20 campaign off to a positive start
ENG Women vs BAN Women, 4th Match, Group B at Bengaluru, Mar 17 2016 - Ball by Ball Commentary
6.30pm: Bangladesh can take a lot of heart from the way they went about that chase, particularly after losing a few early wickets. They may have let England get rather too many to be competitive but that was really down to one woman, Edwards showing her class; to then put on their best T20 total in response, against one of the established powers, was a praiseworthy effort.
Let's hear from Charlotte Edwards, who was named Player of the Match: "It's always nice to get some runs and more importantly a win. [Fitness] It was pretty tough, need to work on getting a few more boundaries. Still some work to do on our bowling and fielding but a good start. Tammy started well and that lets me knock it about. Pleased with how we batted, Dani and Katherine showed their power at the end. I thought we fielded well but there's room for improvement and a big game against India coming up."
Bangladesh captain Jahanara Alam: "It's a good score for us, we lost but it's encouraging. We lost some wickets but Salma and Joty batted well, so it's a good day for us. [Good personal performance] I have not been in good form, it's good to get some wickets but I'm not happy, next time I'd like to concede fewer runs."
So England level up with India and West Indies at the top of Group B - two of those will soon meet, with India welcoming England to Dharamsala on Tuesday. We will be back to bring you that match in all it's glory. Until then, thanks for your contributions today, catch you on the other side. Ciao!
full and straight, bunted down the ground to long-on
pitched up and Alam works it into a gap - that takes Bangladesh past their previous highest score in T20s
steered away square on the off side
full and slightly wide, goes for the reverse sweep and it beats everyone
full and straight, played back to the bowler
Final over, Gunn to bowl. Even six sixes won't win it for Bangladesh but this has been a very respectable effort
Salma pokes into a gap to keep the strike
wicket-to-wicket line, worked away
An excellent partnership comes to an end, second wicket for Shrubsole. The captain Jahanara Alam is in next
sharp stumping attempt from Taylor - is that out? They are going to check with the third umpire - and, yes, she was out of her ground! Nigar had shuffled forward, attempted to hit across the line and was beaten, Taylor then nudged off the bails with the batsman's back foot an inch or so out of the crease
full outside off and smashed... all the way for six! Impressive power down the ground from Nigar, getting low and hammering it back beyond the rope for the first Dorothy of the innings
taking the pace off, Salma waits and glances one through mdiwicket
Here's david: "Unavoidably, missed most of this. Damn! Nevertheless, glad to see England in the driving seat."
on the stumps and clipped through backward square leg, a good throw keeps them to one
Anya Shrusbole to finish her allocation
pushed wide of the stumps, Salma attempts to reverse sweep and fails to connect
full and straight and heaved away to leg
teasing legcutter this time, quite wide and Nigar has to adjust to steer behind square
fired on the stumps, 48mph again taking the pace off, flicked through midwicket
"They certainly are fighting, these Bangladeshi women. Can they get to 120?" Tigers showing a few claws, Sandy
loopy slower ball, leans out on off stump and clips to leg - that's the Bangladesh 100, a decent marker for them
That's caused some pain and Nigar is going to require some treatment from the magic sponge here. She's okay to continue, though
fullish and slapped through mid-on... again Nigar is hit by the throw as she turns to ground her bat, this time on the ankle
Jenny Gunn back on
"Hi Alan. Has Kat Brunt crossing 130k today?" Not quite that quick on this occasion, Abhijeet Kumar, but she is coming back from injury
on the stumps, taking the pace off again, clubbed over the leg side and away into a gap - that's four, and the 50 stand
off-stump line, offcutter from Brunt, squirted back towards the bowler but it bounces just short as she hurls herself forward
