UAE announce squad for ACC tournament

UAE have announced their squad for the Asian Cricket Council Tournament in Malaysia starting July 11. This will be the first time UAE play international cricket after the national team was set up in May this year.

The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has picked a 14-member squad to be led by Natasha Michael. The team is being coached by Pramila Korikar and Smitha Harikrishna, former Indian cricketers who helped set up the team after the ECB announced their intention to establish a women's side.

The players are currently undergoing a conditioning camp at Sharjah. Most of the players are students and will make their debuts in Malaysia.

UAE squad: Natasha Michael (capt), Meena Shankar, Natasha Robinson, Manvi Dhodhi, Veni Praveen (wk), Samiya, Charvi Bhatt, Jesar Shah, Nicole D'Silva, Malitha Pillai, Anisha Sharma, Tanya Flynn, Petule Nadar and Tahira Akbar.
