Aamer Sohail appointed chief coach at NCA

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given Aamer Sohail an additional two-week assignment as chief coach of the National Cricket Academy where the Pakistan Academy and Pakistan Under-19 teams begin training from Friday

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has given Aamer Sohail an additional two-week assignment as chief coach of the National Cricket Academy where the Pakistan Academy and Pakistan Under-19 teams begin training from Friday.
"Aamer Sohail's appointment is only for the duration in which the two teams will prepare for the forthcoming tours," Administrator Academies Col (retd) Mohammad Parvaiz said in a statement.
The Pakistan Academy team leaves for South Africa on Aug 4 while the under-19 team departs for Sri Lanka on Aug 10.
"He has been asked to take the additional assignment because he has selected these boys and is, therefore, more knowledgeable about the strengths and weakness of these players. It will also help him monitor their (players) progress that would eventually help him take selectorial decisions in the future," he said.
Aamer Sohail is also the chairman of Pakistan cricket selectors.
Aamer will be assisted by Aaqib Javed and Naved Anjum during the two-week camp. Aaqib is the Pakistan Under-19 coach while Naved is Pakistan Academy team coach.
Aamer Sohail said he would try to make full use of the time that has been provided to him. "I will try to assist the players, Aaqib and Naved as much as I can. I think it will be a useful experience working with the boys who, I hope, will go on to represent the country in the near future."
