The South African National Cricket Team captain, Graeme Smith will lead a powerful 19-man African representative side that will pit its strength against an equally competitive Asian XI under the captaincy of Pakistan's Inzamam ul-Haq in the inaugural Afro-Asian Games this month.

Shaun Pollock will captain the Africa XI for the first two matches whilst Smith is still serving his four match ban. Kallis will deputise Pollock during Smith's absence.
The South African all-rounder, Justin Ontong is only available for selection for the opening match on the 17th.
The Zimbabwean trio of Streak, Taibu and Blignaut will be unavailable for the first match due to Zimbabwe's engagement in the second Test match against New Zealand which is scheduled to finish on the 19th August.

Hours of Play:
12:00 - 15:30 (1st session)

The match officials:
Match Referee: Clive Lloyd (West Indies)
Standing Umpires: Billy Doctrove (West Indies) and Steve Davis (Australia) will stand in all three matches.
TV and Fourth Umpires: Karl Hurter will be the TV Umpire in the opening match on the 17th August and Brian Jerling will be the 4thumpire.
On 20th August, Brian Jerling will be the TV Umpire and his fellow Emirates International Panelist and compatriot, Ian Howell will be the 4th umpire and their roles will be vice-versa in the third and final match on 21st August.
