AMC's first International match on home soil

As per bilateral agreement between government of Mozambique and India, Indian Navy is giving Mozambique coastal protection for all international events held in Mozambique namely, African Union Summit, International Economic Forum etc.etc.

Knowing the existence of Mozambican Cricket Association, the Indian Navy through the Indian High Commission in Maputo officially approached the Governor of Maputo, who is also the chairman of AMC, for a goodwill match between these 2 countries, probably keeping in mind construction of true friendship through cricket in other part of the world.

AMC gladly agreed. Therefore the Indian Navy XI will consist of Command players serving on the INS SUJATA and INS SAVITRI will be playing Mozambique National team on the 13th June 2004 at AMC ground in COMETAL. .

The match will be 50 overs each. This will be the very First International Cricket match on Mozambique soil. Approximately 500 dignitaries and guests, apart from normal cricket crowd are expected to attend the event. Full TV and media coverage is expected, and to make the festival more attractive famous Indian Navy band will be playing to cheer the crowd whole day.

Around 200 + VIP, guests and players will be enjoying typical Indian Tandoori Biryani of Basmati rice, Punjabi Sweets etc. Courtesy of Indian Navy.

3 Big Trophies will be awarded at the end of game, namely, Winner, Runner-up and Man of the match. Probably other cash prizes may be introduced.
