Western Warriors fast-bowler Jo Angel will be be out of action until
mid-February 2000 after breaking his arm against New South Wales on the final
day of the Pura Milk Cup match at the WACA Ground yesterday.
Angel received a small fracture (just above the wrist) to the ulna bone on his
right arm.
He will have a plate inserted later today and will be sidelined for up to six
weeks.
Angel (31) is the Western Warriors second leading wicket-taker of the 1999-2000
first-class season (behind Brad Williams) with 17 wickets at 31.88.
He is WA's fourth leading Sheffield Shield/Pura Milk Cup wicket-taker of all
time with 297 scalps at 24.40 and is closing in on Terry Alderman (384), Dennis
Lillee (323) and Tony Lock (302).
As he is still hospitalised, Angel will be unavailable for comment until later
in the week.
