Smells like team spirit: Suryakumar Yadav and Jatinder Singh share a laugh at the toss • AFP/Getty Images
Oman put up a spirited fight against India in their first ever appearance at the Asia Cup, prising out eight Indian wickets and getting to within 20 runs of the target, but the better team prevailed. The match was fierce, but behind the scenes it was all brotherhood and love, as the video posted by Oman captain Jatinder Singh shows. Oman players had their jerseys signed by the Indian team, stopping for a chat with Axar Patel, and Jatinder himself getting batting tips from Shubman Gill. Here's what went down.
Just after the match and the presentations, India captain Suryakumar Yadav had walked over to talk to the Oman players, congratulating them on putting up a fight and reminding them to never forget the taste of playing on the big stage. "Surya spoke about the game and praised us, which means a lot. Our boys had questions on how to play in different phases of the T20 game. It was really nice to have a chat with him," Jatinder told PTI.
