Victoria have dropped batsmen Wayne Phillips and Warren Ayres for
Geoff Allardice (batsman) and legspinner Paul Garlick.
Western Australia have included 21 year old batsman David
Fitzgerald to fill the troublesome sixth batting position.
Fitzgerald joins Wanneroo team mate and captain Martyn and it appears probable that Western Australia will continue with Veletta
at six. Your scribe has just looked through the squad and seen
with delight that they have finally selected the Fremantle pace
bowler Steve Russell who if you read the club reports you would
have seen has taken 4-70, 6-67, 5-49 and scored some runs. The
squad is: Marsh, Veletta, Langer, Martyn, Moody, Fitzgerald,
Zoehrer Julian, Angel, Atkinson, Spencer, Russell, Wishart.
