The British Embassy CC (England) and Tokyo Wombats CC (Australia) renewed acquaintances in the rebirth of the Tokyo Ashes, which during the 70s and 80s was an annual occurrence in the parks of Tokyo. This year saw the tradition revived for the first time in over 20 years.
Batting first, the Tokyo Wombats scored 9/190 off their allotted 40 overs, 130 of which came from the opening pair. In reply, the British Embassy were dismissed for 154. Jarrad Shearer did the damage with the ball for the Wombats, taking 4/34, earning him man of the match honours.
