Australia A limited-over match in Adelaide cancelled

The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) today announced that the Australia A limited-over match against South Africa A at the Adelaide Oval next Saturday (12 April) has been cancelled.

The Australian Cricket Board (ACB) today announced that the Australia A limited-over match against South Africa A at the Adelaide Oval next Saturday (12 April) has been cancelled.
The ACB and the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCBSA) have agreed that due to the heavy workload on players during the three-and-a-half week tour, the match would be withdrawn from the schedule.
Adelaide will still host the three-day first-class game between Australia A and South Africa A at the Adelaide Oval beginning on Sunday 13 April. The only other three-day match in the series will be played at the WACA Ground in Perth starting on Saturday 19 April.
ACB Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland said that after consultation with the Australian Cricketer's Association and the UCBSA, the decision to cancel the match was appropriate.
"Given the busy tour schedule which demands significant travel and match commitments in a condensed time period, all parties agreed that this would be the best solution to lighten the load," said Mr Sutherland.
"Australia A matches are still a priority for the board and this decision has been made to ease the burden in this situation.
"While the schedule was agreed some months earlier, the practicalities of it are becoming realised and we felt a mid-tour rest would help the players considerably."
