England put in a superb effort to win the first match in the Commonwealth Bank series finals but Australia will have been wounded by that defeat and we can expect them to come out stronger for the second match, which takes place in Sydney on Sunday.
Glenn McGrath described it as one of the worst displays he can remember from this Ausgtralian side and though that they may be pushing things a little, they were certainly below par and for once, England took advantage.
The innings by Paul Collingwood was outstanding while Ian Bell also looked excellent at the crease and England will fancy their chances of a third straight win over the Aussies - a far cry from the Test series and the early part of this series.
Bet365 are siding with the Aussies again, at 1/5 (1.20), but that's longer than they were for the first game at the MCG. England are 10/3 to win the series 2-0 and give Australia the ignominy of not even taking it to a decider.
Ponting favourite
Australia captain Ricky Ponting is again favourite to be his side's top runscorer, at 3/1. Ponting has been the best batsman in the series and until he was out in the opener, Australia were on course for a massive total.
Openers Matt Hayden, who's in excellent form, and Adam Gilchrist, who has suffered a couple of low scores in the past two games, are both 4/1, while Michael Clarke is 5/1. Brad Hodge is 11/2 and Michael Hussey, who has perhaps lost his way of late, 13/2.
Despite his heroics in the past two games, Collingwood is still not favourite to come out on top for England, with bet365 making him 9/2 joint favourite.
Bell and Andrew Strauss are 4/1 joint favourites, with Ed Joyc alongside Collingwood at 9/2. Mal Loye is a 5/1 chance with Andrew Flintoff 11/2.
