Australia remains comfortably clear at the top of the LG ICC ODI Championship table after the rankings underwent their annual update today.
Australia's ranking remains unchanged on 136 but with second-placed Sri Lanka gaining three points its lead at the top has been reduced to 16 points.
Pakistan is the main beneficiary from the annual update, climbing from fifth to third in the official table. A poor 12 months in 2002-03 no longer counts towards Pakistan's total which means its rating has improved from 112 to 116.
This is enough to put it narrowly ahead of New Zealand when the ratings are recalculated to three decimal places. New Zealand's rating is unchanged but if it wins its next ODI it will move above Pakistan into a top three position.
Kenya has not been accorded a ranking as it has only played two ODI matches since August 2003.
Australia has always been the top side in the LG ICC ODI Championship since it was introduced in October 2002.
LG ICC ODI Championship table correct on 30 July 2005:
Position (previous) Team Rating
1 (1) Australia 136 (136)
2 (2) Sri Lanka 120 (117)
3 (5) Pakistan 116 (112)
4 (3) New Zealand 116 (116)
5 (4) South Africa 111 (112)
6 (6) England 109 (108)
7 (7) India 95 (97)
8 (8) West Indies 91 (95)
9 (9) Zimbabwe 46 (50)
10 (11) Bangladesh 15 (12)
Kenya has only played two matches during the rating period which is not enough for it to be accorded a ranking.
