Australian squad for the first Ansett Australia Test

The match will see Australia attempt to win its 11th successive Test

Australian Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Speed today announced that the National Selection Panel has selected the following squad for the First Ansett Australia Test against the West Indies at The Gabba, Brisbane, starting on Thursday 23 November:

  • GLENN MCGRATH (NSW)
  • COLIN MILLER (VIC)
  • RICKY PONTING (TAS)
  • MICHAEL SLATER (NSW)

The match will see Australia attempt to win its 11th successive Test. Victory would equal the world record for consecutive Test match wins, currently held by the West Indies, and achieved in 1984.
