Australian squad for the fourth Ansett Australia Test
Stephen Waugh and Brett Lee have been included in the squad and will be available to play subject to them satisfying the Australian team's medical staff of their fitness

Australian Cricket Board (ACB) Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Speed today announced that the National Selection Panel has selected the following squad for the Fourth Ansett Australia Test against the West Indies at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, starting on Tuesday 26 December:
- ANDREW BICHEL (QLD)
- ADAM GILCHRIST (WA)
- JASON GILLESPIE (SA)
- MATTHEW HAYDEN(QLD)
- JUSTIN LANGER (WA)
- BRETT LEE (NSW)
- STUART MACGILL (NSW)
- DAMIEN MARTYN (WA)
- GLENN MCGRATH (NSW)
- COLIN MILLER (VIC)
- RICKY PONTING (TAS)
- MICHAEL SLATER (NSW)
- MARK WAUGH (NSW)
- STEPHEN WAUGH (NSW)
Stephen Waugh and Brett Lee have been included in the squad and will be available to play subject to them satisfying the Australian team's medical staff of their fitness. They will be assessed on an ongoing basis after the squad assembles.
In the event that Stephen Waugh plays he will captain the side and Adam Gilchrist will be vice-captain. If Stephen Waugh does not play, Gilchrist will lead the side and Ricky Ponting will be vice-captain.
