BCB meeting blasts selection committee
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in a meeting at the BKSP yesterday
have recommended to dissolve the present selection committee and
include experienced all-rounder Minhazul Abedin in the 15-man World
Cup squad.
Chaired by BCB vice-president Ali Khabir Chand, the meeting strongly
condemned the three-man selection committee led by Enayet Hossain
Siraj for their controversial team selection that sparked wide spread
criticism across the country.
President of BCB Saber Hossain Chowdhury and his general secretary
however were not present in the meeting which was attended by 18 out
of 33 members.
The meeting also strongly recommended to include Minhazul Abedin in
the Bangladesh World Cup squad.
Talking to The Daily Star over telephone last night the BCB
joint-secretary Mahmud Ul Haque said that the final decision will be
made by the board president.
The BCB boss failed to attend the meeting as he was reportedly
suffering from fever. The general secretary Syed Ashraful Huq was out
of the country.
