Be'er Sheva A take step closer to promotion

Be'er Sheva A defeated Neve Yonatan by two wickets in a Division 2 match played in Ashdod on Saturday to take a step closer to promotion to Division 1. With one round of matches still to be played, Dimona C would need to both win their final match against bottom team Lions Be'er Sheva, and hope that Be'er Sheva A slip up against Neve Yonatan, to have a chance of winning the division themselves.

A good opening stand between George Sheader (44) and Naor Gudker (23), followed by an agressive 39 by Yogesh, helped Be'er Sheva to their target of 163 with just 9 balls remaining, despite a middle order collapse. Earlier, Benzie Kehimkar (70) and Shimshon Razpurker (30) were the only players to score double figures for Neve Yonatan. Gudker (3 for 21) was the most successful of the Be'er Sheva bowlers.
