Bowling honours suddenly up for grabs

The batting honours may just about be done and dusted but the same cannot be said for the bowlers, with long-time leaders James Anderson and Ben Hilfenhaus suddenly under pressure from some of their team-mates

The batting honours may just about be done and dusted but the same cannot be said for the bowlers, with long-time leaders James Anderson and Ben Hilfenhaus suddenly under pressure from some of their team-mates.
Anderson has really come of age in the past two years and seems to enjoy leading the attack nowadays. His five-wicket haul in the first innings at Edgbaston was an outstanding effort but he had no success at Headingley and he is in a real dog-fight now, tied with Stuart Broad on 12 wickets apiece.
What had seemed a foregone conclusion is now anything but and the hard, bouncy pitch likely to be awaiting them at the Oval may not be of much use to Anderson, who is at his best in conditions where there is plenty of swing.
Broad wiull be buoyed by his six wickets in Australia's innings and he should be assured of his place in the side for the Oval, helped by his batting exploits at No 8. Bet365 make Anderson favourite at 11/10, but Broad could be better value at 13/8.
Don't write off Graham Onions either, for he has been pretty consistent and is just two wickets behind. Bet365 make him 4/1 and that's not a terrible price.
Graeme Swann, who has six wickets, is 20/1, the same price as Andrew Flintoff, who has taken seven wickets so far.
Hilfenhaus being caught
Ben Hilfenhaus has been the most consistent of Australia's bowlers throughout the series but he now has a real task on his hands to stay ahead.
Just two wickets separate him from Mitchell Johnson and Peter Siddle and any of them could easily end up on top.
Bet365 still make Hilfenhaus favourite, 8/11, but a rejuvenated Johnson is 2/1 and Siddle, who has shown plenty of aggression, is 4/1. It's going to be tight, but Johnson has the momentum and his confidence is returning.
Cambers' Call - advised before 1st Test
James Anderson to be top England series wicket-taker - 2/1 bet365
Stuart Clark to be top Australia series wicket-taker 4/1 bet365
