CCA launch All Out Action Cricket

The Canterbury Cricket Association is set to launch an innovative new style of cricket in the New Year

The Canterbury Cricket Association is set to launch an innovative new style of cricket in the New Year. All Out Action Cricket encourages maximum participation and maximum enjoyment for all. The rules are such that the eight-a-side games will ensure everybody must bat and bowl. The games are fifteen overs per side and will be played with a recently developed white `softaball' so gear can be kept to a minimum (no pads, gloves etc required).
The competition, which will have modules at Hagley Park and Ilam University grounds, seeks involvement from Business Houses, social groups or established cricket teams and can accommodate single sexed or mixed teams.
Commenting on the innovation, new CCA Community Cricket Manager Doug McSweeney said, "with the changes in lifestyle, cricket is no longer strictly a Saturday afternoon game. It is important that those wanting to play cricket in a social setting at other times are given the opportunity to do so and this midweek competition gives them a chance to do this".
All gear and officials will be provided by Canterbury Cricket, as well a prize money and player of the day awards.
For further information or enrolment details please contact the CCA.
