After former leg-spinner Willie Rodriguez decided to withdraw from the election for the post of president of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), Guyana's Chetram Singh looks a shoo-in when the votes are cast this weekend.
Rodriguez explained to the BBC that he had withdrawn because Singh, currently president of the Guyana Cricket Board, had greater support among WICB executives.
The current WICB president, Wes Hall, is not contesting the post further due to health reasons. Singh's own bid for the post has come under some scrutiny due to his ownership of a bookmaking business, but he has stated that the business was legally registered.
