The United Cricket Board of South Africa ("UCB") controls and manages cricket at all levels in South Africa and is responsible for appointing selectors ("Selectors") who are charged with the task of selecting the National squad and South African A team.
The appointment of these Selectors shall be subject to rules and regulations applicable, mutatis mutandis, to all officials, administrators and players involved in cricket played under the auspices of UCB.
1. Selectors shall not engage in unbecoming or detrimental conduct which could bring them, the UCB or the game of cricket into disrepute.
2. Selectors shall not disclose or comment in public or make public pronouncements or media comments,
2.1. which are detrimental to the game of cricket in general;
2.2. which are detrimental to a particular tournament or match involving the National squad or South African A team;
2.3. which are critical of the selection of the National squad or South African A team, its coach/es or other officials connected therewith;
2.4. which are critical of any principle or policy adopted by the UCB;
2.5. which are attacks of a personal nature and/or could have the effect of undermining the UCB, the manager, the captain, coach/es or players of the National squad or South African A team;
2.6. on any decision by the UCB, the UCB Disciplinary Committee or the UCB Appeal Board.
3. Selectors shall not engage, directly or indirectly, in betting, gambling or any other form of financial speculation on the outcome of any cricket match.
4. Selectors shall not engage, directly or indirectly, in any commercial activities of any nature involving players contracted to the UCBSA at the time and for a period of 12 (twelve) months after termination of such contracts.
5. Selectors shall be subject to the Rules and Code of Conduct of the UCB including the regulations relating to disciplinary procedures.
Selectors acknowledge that their appointment as Selectors is subject to the above Rules and Regulations.
