Paul Collingwood remains the favourite to be England's top series runscorer, despite adding just 45 runs in Mohali to his first Test total of 164. The middle-order batsman is now a 15/8 (2.87) shot to stay on top after the third and final Test, which begins in Mumbai on Thursday.
Kevin Pietersen is third in the runs list at the moment with 170 but bet365 clearly fear a big innings from the Hampshire man as he is the second favourite at 5/2 (3.50). Alastair Cook, who has 183 runs so far and has looked a real find, is 100/30 (4.33) and Andrew Flintoff, who has 164 runs and who appears on the verge of a big innings, could be tempting at 11/2 (6.50).
For India, the betting is headed by the ever-dependable Rahul Dravid, for whom captaincy does not appear to be affecting his batting. The right-hander is 8/15 (1.53) to come out on top, having rattled up 248 runs to date.
Opener Wasim Jaffer, who has 229 and who, at the top of the order, is most likely to get two bites at the cherry in Mumbai, is 6/4 (2.50) to pip his captain. Those two are well clear of the next man, Virender Sehwag, who has just 89 runs to his name and who can be backed at 18/1 (19.00).
Sachin Tendulkar, yet to catch fire in the series with just 48 runs, is 25/1 (26.00), but don't be surprised if he smashes a century in Mumbai, as he rarely goes through a series without a big score to his name.
Kumble odds-on
In the bowling markets, bet365 were clearly right to be wary of Anil Kumble after the first Test. The firm made him 6/5 (2.20) favourite to be India's leading wicket-taker after the first Test, even though he took just two wickets. A haul of nine wickets in Mohali put him four clear and he is now 1/4 (1.25) to stay there, which is probably about right as he has taken a whopping 33 in six Tests at Mumbai.
Irfan Pathan, who has seven wickets, is 11/2 (6.50), while Munaf Patel., who also has seven, is 13/2 (7.50).
For England, Matthew Hoggard, with 10 wickets, is the 8/15 (1.53) favourite, but Andrew Flintoff, who has seven, should not be discounted and can be backed at 3/1 (4.00).
