Diamonds to play Young Ashdod in Cup final

Third division outfit Diamonds Cricket Club will play first division Young Ashdod in the final of the ICA Cup on Saturday. The match will be played in Ashdod.

Diamonds recorded a comprehensive 8 wicket win over Lod Cricket Club at Hadar Yosef on Saturday. The Diamond bowlers once again performed superbly to dismiss Lod for a paltry 88. Amit Shah returned the outstanding figures of 5 for 18. At once stage Lod were 48 for 8, and only a contributions from tail enders Asher Penkar (19) and Joel Varsulkar (14*) took the total beyond 80.

Lod skipper picked Avner Waskar up two wickets to have Diamonds 48 for 2, but the victory was never in doubt as Anish (36*) and Shailesh Bothra (19*) took their team to their target without further alarm.

Young Ashdod had a bye through to the final following the disqualification of Neve Yonatan and Lions Lod. The quarter final match between the two sides was interrupted due to unsporting behavior and was not completed.
