Israel allrounder Jacky Divekar scored 102 for Dimona 'C', who completely outplayed Lions Be'er Sheva in their Division 1 match played in Be'er Sheva. Batting first, Dimona amassed 305 for 6. Although being 67 for 3 at one stage, Divekar, together with Sammy Divekar (67), added 127 for the 4th wicket in just 18 overs to take the score on to 194. Divekar was eventually out, one of Raymond Waskar's 3 wickets, in the 41st over with the total on 286. Be'er Sheva could only muster 119 in reply, losing by a massive 186 runs.
In the only Premier League clash of the weekend, Ra'anana moved back up to second on the table with a comfortable 6-wicket win over Be'er Sheva at Hadar Yosef. Ra'anana's experienced duo of Adrian Vard and Des Moss led the way, sharing 5 wickets with the ball and then adding 97 runs for the first wicket with the bat. Be'er Sheva stumbled their way to 149 all out, having won the toss and elected to bat. Although 6 players reached double figures, the highest score was 21 from Keneth Elayza. Yona Malyekar batted for 26 overs in scoring 20, Naor Gudker scored a brisk 20, and Samson Ashtamkar managed 16, but none of the batsman could go on to put together a really big score. Gedaliya Auerbach (1 for 19) bowled with some real pace at times, but
it was Moss (2 for 21) and Vard (3 for 27) who caused the most damage.
Ra'anana would have been weary going out to bat, having failed to chase a similiar total against Ashdod A just a week ago. But Moss and Vard gave them the solid start that was required, before Moss was out for 44. Vard followed shortly afterwards for 51, and although David Silver (20) and Danny Hotz (0) were also out before victory was sealed, the target was reached with little fuss.
Lod Cricket Club completed their fifth successive win in Division 2,
although they were made to work hard as Diamond Cricket Club put in another good performance. Simon Penkar scored an excellent 75, and Shamir Borgar contributed 29, as Lod, having been asked to bat, were all out for 198. Prashant (4 for 26) was once again the pick of the Diamond bowlers. The Diamond reply got off to a bad start with Sanjay Shah out without scoring, but Anish Zaveri (45), Shailesh (23) and Raju Shah (24) all got amongst the runs. Despite conceding 57 extras, the Lod bowlers were able to pick up the wickets of the middle and lower order fairly cheaply, and Diamond were all out for 187, 11 runs short.
Dimona A beat Kiryat Gat by 19 runs in a high scoring Division 2 contest in Dimona. Batting first, Dimona reached 257, with Rakhamin Charikar top scoring with 43. In reply, Avshalom Senkar scored 73, but his team could only manage 238. Dimona A moved into second place on the table, jumping above the Negev Academy whose game against Petah Tikva was postponed.
