Double gold for South Africa

The South Africans also took gold in the junior tournament, going undefeated after a narrow win over Great Britain on the final day of competition. Great Britain defeated Israel by 66-runs to win bronze in the senior competition, but the home nation can be very proud of their junior side, who although outclassed against the South Africans, defeated Great Britain and Australia to take the silver.
Australian captain Jonathan Weinstock was nominated man of the tournament for his batting and wicket keeping performances. Daniel Harrisberg took the award in the junior competition. The South African spinner was outstanding throughout the Maccabiah, finishing with 17 wickets.
