In a milestone moment for the ICC EAP umpiring program, Indonesia's Shahul Hameed was appointed to stand in the final of the ICC Trophy final between Ireland and Scotland on July 13.
Hameed, who was recently appointed to the inaugural umpires panel made up of Associate and Affiliate Member countries, stood in the final with Full Member umpire ?? from ??.
Hameed's progression through the international umpiring ranks has been rapid, with his first taste of officiating at the international level coming in 2004 at the ICC EAP Cricket Challenge in Japan.
Since that debut, Hameed has umpired at the ICC World Cup Qualifying Series event in Malaysia and the New Zealand Cricket Under 17 National Championships.
Hameed will continue to gain further experience in 2005, with appointments in South Africa for the U/19 World Cup Qualifying Series and at the ICC Intercontinental Cup.
