In the ECB 38-County Cup, Richard Hignett was in irrepressible mood for
Cheshire against the Derbyshire Board XI at New Brighton. Cheshire opened
their Group Six programme with a crushing nine wicket verdict over the
Derbyshire Board XI, thanks to a blistering 85 not out from Hignett, who
smashed six sixes and 10 fours in a whirlwind 52-ball innings that swept
Cheshire past Derbyshire's modest 160 for eight in just 26.5 overs.
Norfolk also began their ECB 38-County Cup campaign with a 12-run victory
over Bedfordshire at Lakenham. Carl Amos hit 92.
