England face Pakistan in the second of back-to-back Twenty20 matches in Dubai on Saturday. Supporters of England on the spreads will be hoping the side can kick on from their successes in the shorter format against South Africa. Pakistan are the current world champions though and can claim to be the best T20 side in the world.
Buyers of Pakistan's match supremacy spread will also be aware that they have the highest success rate of any nation with 21 wins from their 28 games, compared to England's nine wins from 23 games.
Those spread punters looking to take on Pakistan on the spreads will have seen how poorly the side played in their recent tour to Australia. Anyone that had backed them on the spreads would have been hugely disappointed to see them fall to a clean sweep of defeats. That run included three Test losses, five ODI's and one T20 fixture.
Pakistan have played England twice since the creation of T20, and the honours are even. Spread buyers of Pakistan's supremacy will have some concern that England came out on top in their most recent meeting. England triumphed by 48 runs that day, to the delight of those that had bought England's spread. The first meeting between these sides came in 2006, and Pakistan ran out comfortable winners by 5 wickets.
Winning margin records will need to be taken into account before any money is traded on the supremacy spreads. Pakistan's largest win was by 202 runs against Bangladesh, while England's best was victory over the Aussies by 100 runs. Buyers of the spread will be aware that England's last T20 match was lost by a total of 84 runs at Centurion.
Spread bettors looking at Sporting Index's 50-up market (A prediction on the aggregate total of players' runs over 50) will have been researching both sides' history of total scores in T20. Pakistan's highest score was 203 against Bangladesh, with the 50-up spread make-up totalling 37.
Their lowest score came against Kenya - where they scored just 93 runs. Buyers of England's 50-up spread market will be aware that their top score was 202/6 against South Africa. Paul Collingwood and Eoin Morgan scored 57 and 85 respectively, for a total make-up of 42 on the spread.
Sporting Index's player performance spreads often offer plenty of opportunities to profit. Both sides have specialist players in this format of the game. Eoin Morgan is one for England who can use his talent to find boundaries as the batting innings progresses. Buyers of his performance spread will be pleased to know he has played three matches and has scored 101 runs, while his highest score was 85 not out.
Although Umar Akmal is still not twenty, his player performance spread will spark plenty of debate. Those thinking of having a spread bet on him will have noted that from his four matches he has amassed 110 runs. His highest score was 56 not out and he averages 37 runs.
