The first Test between Pakistan and England in Multan is still in the balance going into the final day but bet365 appear to think that it is a done deal for England as they make them 2/13 (1.15) to claim victory. Needing another 174 runs and with nine wickets remaining, they do hold an advantage but chasing runs in the fourth innings on a drying pitch is not likely to be easy and there may well be some takers for the 4/1 (5.00) available on Pakistan snatching the win. With no rain forecast, the draw would seem to be very unlikely and bet365 make it 40/1 (41.00).
With captain Marcus Trescothick back in the pavillion already, though, England have lost their most in-form batsman on tour, but bet365 clearly think that the confidence gained by winning the Ashes will see them through to a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series.Ian Bell, not out 12, is 5/6 (1.83) to make 39 or more runs, while he is the same price to fall short. Andrew Strauss, unbeaten on seven, is 5/6 (1.83) to make 36 or more, and the same price to not make it that far.
