FILA Sport joins forces with the ACB

FILA SPORT and the Australian Cricket Board (ACB) have joined forces in an agreement that will benefit Australian cricket at every level, from the consumer to the top international players

FILA SPORT and the Australian Cricket Board (ACB) have joined forces in an agreement that will benefit Australian cricket at every level, from the consumer to the top international players.
FILA has been appointed as the exclusive supplier of playing and training uniforms to Australian cricket for four years, commencing on 1 May 2001.
And FILA has also been appointed as the exclusive licensee for ACB supporter-wear.
Under the terms of the agreement, FILA will provide on-field and training apparel for the Australia and Australia A squads, as well as on-field apparel for State Cricket Associations for Pura Cup and Mercantile Mutual Cup matches.
FILA will also develop an ACB supporter-wear range that means Australian consumers can expect a significant increase in the range of ACB Licensed clothing available through major Australian retailers.
And the FILA ACB range will cater for all ages, shapes and sizes, both male and female.
ACB Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Speed said: "This is a fantastic deal for Australian cricket[A1].
"The fact that we have a new partner in FILA is great news for Australian cricket as it illustrates the enduring strength of the game.
"It will mean that our players will be wearing leading edge performance fabrics in keeping with their status as World Champions.
"And Australian consumers will get the chance to purchase a wide range of ACB supporter-wear, giving them the opportunity to show their support for their team while at the same time looking stylish.
"FILA SPORT is a high-class, high-performance brand, and our agreement is a very natural fit for both parties."
The ACB's existing apparel supplier Illustrated Sports Clothing (ISC) will continue to work with the ACB during the forthcoming summer. Their last commitment will be the fit-out for the tour of India, scheduled from February to April 2001.
FILA SPORT Managing Director David Carney said: "The Australian Cricket Team is one of the world's most successful and enduring sports icons. It has been a force in world sport for over 100 years.
"FILA is delighted to join with the ACB as a sponsor for on-field, training and casual apparel. FILA and the ACB plan to take authentic Australian Cricket licensed apparel to the Australian and world markets and develop a unique Australian Cricket apparel program."
