The 2006 season gets going on Tuesday March 28, with a Division 3 game between the Negev Academy and Ra'anana 2. Division 1 teams and the remaining first round games in Division 3 will be played over the weekend March 31 / April 1, with Division 2 getting underway the following week. A total of 18 teams will be compete in the domestic league, the same number of teams as last season. Although the Negev Academy has been cut to one team, for the first time in Israeli cricket history a team from Eilat will participate.
The 2006 season also includes two major international events. The senior national team travels to Scotland to participate in the 2nd Division European Championships in early August, before Israel hosts the U17 2nd Division European Championships, marking the first time a European tournament will be played in Israel.
